This is why you should ALWAYS check under the bed when leaving a hotel room

The last thing every parent should do when leaving a hotel room is check under the bed, something this mum sadly learned the hard way.

Meredith Masony had just returned from a trip to LegoLand with her family, but one "camper" was left feeling very upset.

"What happened was we left the hotel room and sometimes if you don't check under the beds and in the sheets and in the bathroom, sometimes we can leave things in the hotel," the mum-of-three explained in a Facebook Live video.

"So we have left Sophia's blanket that she has had since she was a baby [in the hotel]".

The blogger went on to explain that they rang the hotel, who promised to check the room, and Meredith and Sophia were waiting to hear back, hopeful that the blanket would be returned.

Sadly, Sophia, who has had the blanket since birth, said that she won't be able to sleep if she doesn't get it back.

However, in a bid to help her daughter move on from the experience, Meredith asked her followers to share stories of the things that they have left behind in hotel rooms.

Talking to Sophia, the mum added: "We make mistakes and accidents happen and things get left behind and we're allowed to be sad.

"It's not the end of the world; we have to be able to move forward. It's OK to be sad, and it's OK to have a bummed out day today."

Realising that her daughter was still upset about the whole thing, she continued: "It is OK to be sad and if we can't find it we are going to get a new one and snot that one up!"

"We're going to be fine."

Poor little Sophia's face was a picture of utter sadness, and we hope the eight-year-old was reunited with her blanket in the end.

Such an important reminder to always check the room before you leave, especially if your kids brought any sentimental items away with them.
