Student's sweet act of kindness moves teacher to tears

Grab the tissues, because this is one emotional roller-coaster.

Price Lawrence, an elementary school teacher from Alabama, posted a viral Facebook status that has just restored our faith in humanity.

"This morning, during first period, my kids could tell that I was a little off," he began.

He explained to them that his wife's father had passed away and he was worried about her. They expressed their condolences and class moved in.

But what happened next is heart-wrenching.

When the bell rang the students filed out of the room, one little girl approached him, and put something in his hand, saying:

"This is for your wife. I know it was real expensive when my daddy died and I don’t really want ice cream today anyways.”

She handed him a note saying "Mrs Lawrence, I'm sorry" and 75 cents.

Where did those tissues go?!

Lawrence signed off with a final message about the goodness in children, that we could all learn from.

"I wish the world would pay more attention to children. We could learn a lot from them."

We're in bits, as are the 676,000 Facebook users how have liked and commented on the post:

Someone buy this girl all off the ice cream!
