Soldiers shoot confetti in the air for their friend's wife and we're bawling

Chris Harris was a member of the United States Army who were on duty in Afghanistan.

Chris was newly married, and his wife was expecting their first baby.

Unfortunately, the young man didn't make it home, as he was struck down in battle, his wife and child left behind.

Nonetheless, Chris' comrades who are still deployed in the Middle East, wanted to do something special for his wife.

And with her gender reveal impending – the gang pulled together to surprise her with the sweetest reveal we could ever think of.

The reveal took place in a shed with the soldiers who fought alongside Chris present.

The men begin by telling everyone they're excited to find out if the baby is a boy or girl and they're about to band together for the exciting news.

Counting down from three to one, the guys all pull the chord on a confetti drum and guess what?

It's a girl!

The excitement is palpable as the guys begin to dab around the pink colours.

It's a bittersweet adventure for both the soldiers and Chris' wife,  but it is amazing to see the support they have for one another.

We're in pieces – too beautiful.
