Schoolboy with rare birthmark finds an unlikely friend in the schoolyard

Grant was born with a birthmark covering a portion of the right side of his face.

But it was something the little guy never cared about, it was a unique part of his character.

However, after years of questions from strangers and classmates, his frustration grew and confidence dwindled.

But that all changed one day, thanks to an unlikely school yard ally.

Grant was outside playing when another young boy approached him, asking the usual question – “what’s that on your face?”

But after his usual explanation, Grant was shocked to hear the young boy reply: “Well, your birthmark is really cool.”

It took just one person to instil confidence back into Grant’s character, but it wasn’t until afterwards that Grant’s mum Madeleine found his new friend.

Madeleine felt compelled to post the story to Love What Matters sharing such a beautiful story of one child's kindness, proving friendship and confidence come from this.

Grant’s new friend, Tucker, left his parents in shock too as the first class student is usually quite shy, and does not interact with other students very well.

Both young guys brought the best out in one another, and we have no doubt these guys are going to be friends for quite a while.

We’re glad Grant is back to his usual confident, happy self, we think his birthmark is cool too.
