14 reasons toddlers act up

ttYou’ve probably lost count of how many times your toddler threw a tantrum after they were told things couldn’t go their way.

But this isn’t the only reason why young children act up.

Here are some common reasons toddlers act up:

1. They want to test the waters to see where the boundaries are.

2. They know you’ll eventually give in to their demands because it worked the last time.

3. They want attention because they’re bored.

4. They’re trying to manipulate you to give them what they want.

5. They want to do things their way to show they can be independent.

6. They are tired, sick or hungry.

7. They’re too young to know how to channel their emotions.

8. They don’t know how to handle certain emotions.

9. They don’t have the vocabulary to tell you what they truly want.

10. They don’t always know what’s expected of them.

11.They’re trying to punish you for not giving them what they want.

12.They copy other children because it worked for them.

13. They’re trying to communicate with you.

Another reason toddlers act up is simply because they’re toddlers. Yes, it’s that simple! It’s normal for young children to act up for time to time.
