WOW! This seven-year-old with no hands just won a handwriting award

Anaya Ellick was born with no hands, and she doesn't use prosthetics.

But that didn't stop the seven-year-old from Virginia winning a national handwriting competition.

When she writes, Anaya taught herself how to write. She does so by holding pencils between her arms. She also stands over the desk, in an effort to get the right angle to write.

The little girl picked up the Nicholas Maxim Special Award for Excellence in Manuscript Penmanship, and while her mum Bianca is proud as punch, she's not that surprised.

"She ties her shoes," Bianca told Today. "She gets dressed by herself. She doesn't really need any assistance to do anything."

And Anaya's principal can attest that the child does indeed stand out on paper, and in every way.

"Genuinely, it is the neatest handwriting in her whole class," Tracy Cox, principal of Anaya's school, Greenbrier Christian Academy, said. "She does not let anything get in the way of doing what she has set out to do."

What an inspiring little girl with a brilliant attitude!

SHARE if you think Anaya's a wonder.
