Family Life

What this little girl asked Santa for will actually MELT your heart

For the majority of children, the best part about Christmas is getting presents.

Let's be honest here, while they may love the lights and the family time, they wouldn't be happy if they woke up that morning to find nothing under the tree.

However, not everyone is the same, and for some children, the true meaning of Christmas is well and truly alive.

Like eight-year-old Nadia.

Nadia's mum Diana Vasquez Prado shared a letter her daughter wrote on the Love What Matters Facebook page. It was a letter to Santa – but with a twist.

The young girl, aware of how lucky she is, asked Santa not to bring her any toys or gifts. Instead, the youngster asked the man in red what HE wanted.

Sharing the post on the social media page, Nadia's mum wrote: "My 8-year-old daughter left this note for our Elf, Twinkle, to take to Santa. When I found it, my heart melted, and I cried.

"Our favourite holiday is Christmas, and I’ve always tried to instil the true spirit of Christmas into each of my daughters. Christmas is about love, happiness and, overall, family.

"There are times that we doubt ourselves as parents. There are times that we wonder if we’re doing a good enough job raising good people. She has learned that family is everything and love is more important than gifts under a tree.

"She has learned the spirit of giving. So, relax, Santa! Enjoy your moment to be pampered. This Christmas, we’re giving back!"

Wow, well done, Nadia – such a lovely letter!
