This triple chocolate cheesecake is your new favourite dessert

With an Oreo base, a rich chocolate filling and a chocolate ganache icing, this cheesecake is what dreams are made of.

Ingredients

For the base

  • 24 Oreo, crushed
  • 100g butter, melted

For the filling

  • 800g cream cheese, softened
  • 170g icing sugar
  • 30g cocoa powder
  • 4 eggs
  • 250g dark chocolate, melted

For the ganache

  • 200ml cream
  • 200g dark chocolate, chopped

 

Method

1. Preheat oven to 180°C. Mix Oreo crumbs and melted butter and press into the bottom of 9 inch springform pan. Bake for 5 to 10 minutes and let cool. 

2. Beat the cream cheese with the sugar and cocoa powder until smooth. Add the eggs, one at a time. Add the cooled down melted chocolate and mix until smooth.

3. Pour the mixture over the crust and spread to get a flat surface. Bake for 60 to 70 minutes. Let cool for a few minutes then remove from tin and refrigerate overnight.

4. Heat the cream and pour over a bowl with the chopped chocolate. Let sit for one minute and mix until smooth and glossy. Pour the ganache, allowing it to run down the sides. Top with chocolate shavings to decorate if desired.
