This mum's home birth pictures after having an 11lbs baby are amazing
When Natalie decided to have a home birth for her third child, she employed a photographer to capture the experience.
We're so glad she did because her reaction to delivering an 11 pound 2 ounce baby was fantastic!
Based in Spokane, Washington, the photographer, Laura Fifield, documented the birth in her blog. She said; "Natalie wanted a family-centred home birth with having their older 2 children up and present for the birth."
The gender was a surprise, but not as much of a surprise as the size of the baby!
"Imagine the surprise when her midwife announced 'He’s 11lbs, 2oz Natalie!'. Oh my goodness, we were all shocked!"
With the help of midwives, the baby boy was delivered healthy and happy.
"With no interventions, internal exams and no tearing she safely delivered their 11lb 2oz baby home at home.
"Natalie and her husband were immediately in love with their new son. Once Simon was born, Natalie moved from where the birth pool was into the comfort of her bed. Simon started nursing right way!"
These pictures are absolutely gorgeous. Well done, Natalie, 11 pounds is no small feat!
