Baby

This mum saved her baby's toes using hair removal cream!

A hair tourniquet is a relatively common thing that can happen to a newborn, in which a hair becomes tied around a toe or finger, and tightens with wriggling.

If wound tight enough, the hair can pierce the skin and potentially cut off all blood circulation to the toe or finger.

This is something that would have happened to Kristina Clarke's five-month-old baby girl Bryleigh, if it was not for a simple tube of hair removal cream.

The Australian mum first noticed there was an issue when she was changing her daughters nappy, and saw that her toes were swollen and irritated.

Upon closer inspection, Kristina saw that a hair was wrapped tightly around one of her baby's toes.

After a number of failed attempts at removing the hair, she rushed her little baby to the hospital.

The doctor also struggled to remove it, and that is when he decided to experiment by using hair removal cream.

The hair removal cream successfully got rid of the tightly wound hair, and saved little Bryleigh's toes!
