THIS is the ultimate trick to getting up early in the morning

Constantly hitting the snooze button on your alarm clock?

Find yourself running late every single morning because you slept through the alarm again?

Well, thanks to Jocko Willink, a retired Navy SEAL, you'll finally be able to get up exactly when you need to.

Jocko gets up every morning as soon as his alarm goes off at 4:30am – there's no hitting snooze for him.

And his trick? Not to think as soon as he wakes up.

"Don't think in the morning," he told Business Insider.

"That's a big mistake that people make. They wake up in the morning, and they start thinking."

Rather than check emails, go through his to-do list or have a cup of coffee. Jocko heads to his home gym where he finds a workout wakes him up a lot more intensely than caffeine ever could.

Now while not everyone has a gym at home that they can head to, Jocko's tip about not thinking is something we can all get on board with.

Things like getting your clothes ready the night before, setting the table and leaving your phone in a different room (so you're not checking social media or your emails as soon as you wake up) are things we can all do.

Jocko's advice: "Don't think. Just execute the plan."
