'This is a miracle': Seven-week-old puppy Toffee rescued after falling down a 50-foot hole

Last week, Huntsville, Alabama went into chaos when a seven-week old puppy by the name of Toffee fell down a hole and became trapped.

It wasn’t long before a group of plumbers went above and beyond to rescue the poor animal, who was trapped in the 50-foot hole for over 30 hours.

To make mattes worse, the Australian shepherd mix is also deaf.

The whole town quickly began turning out to help get Toffee back to safety, with plumbers from Roto-Rooter among the volunteers who spent more than 30 hours working to free Toffee.

Eventually, the puppy was lured into a net with food while firefighters, engineers, handymen and cave rescue crews looked on.

A live stream of the rescue depleted the crowd cheering as the Toffee is finally pulled from the hole.

The video, which was uploaded to Facebook by WHNT News 19 has garnered 3k likes, 2.2k shares and 271k comments

Others gave their advice on how to get the pup to safety, with one saying, ”find a small pet carrier bag, tie it to rope with door open, another fishing line attached to door, puppy crawls inside pull up the door then pull puppy out.”

But overall, the feeling was one of relief and happiness that the gorgeous Toffee was rescued.

”Thank God! That beautiful puppy was saved,” another comment read.

Karen Smith, the puppy’s foster mother, spoke to to SunnySkyz and said, ”this is a miracle. I still can’t believe she’s really out and she’s right here and I’m holding her. It’s been an amazing outpouring of kindness.”

This is fantastic news – welcome home, Toffee!
