This GIANT cookie is the best thing you can make today

It is Day 3 of Snowmageddon, and if you, like us, are starting to feel serious cabin fever, it's time for some baking…

In fact, at this point, there is one thing you truly need: a giant chocolate chip cookie!

Using store cupboard ingredients, this recipe is really easy to make and the children will love taking a part in it.

So, bake this cookie, make some hot chocolate and share it with your family: you will make everyone happy!

Ingredients

  • 250g flour
  • 100g white sugar
  • 100g brown sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 125g butter, melted
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 150g chocolate, chopped (milk, dark, white, whatever you prefer!)
  • If the butter is unsalted, add 1/2 tsp salt

Method

1. Preheat the oven to 160°C.

2. In a large bowl, mix dry ingredients (flour, sugars, baking powder). Add the beaten egg, vanilla extract and melted butter, mix well, then stir in chocolate and combine.

3. Using your hands, press the dough together to create a thick patty. Don't worry, the cookie will spread as it bakes.

4. Place the patty on a lined baking sheet and bake the giant cookie for about 20 minutes. Remove from the sheet (don't worry if it looks very soft in the middle, it will harden) and let cool.

5. Enjoy!
