This 11-year-old boy died from an INSANELY dangerous online challenge...
One of the worst things to arise from internet culture is children participating in potentially fatal online challenges.
We've seen the Eraser Challenge, the Duct Tape Challenge and even teen girls self-poisoning.
Now, there's the 'pass-out challenge.'
Also known as 'hangman', it requires kids, spurred on by an online community, to choke themselves until they pass out.
Yes, really.
Tragically, it recently claimed the life of 11-year-old Da'Vorius Christopher 'Chi-Chi' Gray.
After taking part in this senseless challenge, Da'Vorius died in his home in South Carolina, according to his devastated mum, Latrice Rice Hurst.
Despite her grief, Latrice has spoken out in an attempt to encourage other parents to pay closer attention to what their kids are doing online.
"If I could rewind time, I would go back and monitor heavily his use of social media, YouTube and the internet," she said.
"He was on a site called 'Kik' and had been playing games called 'hangman' and pass-out challenge, where kids chock themselves to the point of passing out, and it is apparently a widely popular game."
Latrice is eager to point out that any sort of child can be tempted to partake in these extreme challenges.
"He showed no signs of depression or destructive behaviour, but he as a prankster and loved to play tricks. He talked about how much he loved his family and people, and never showed us any sign otherwise."
"I would just say I don't believe young people should be on social media and it should be limited to adults, or at the very least, with extreme adult supervision, where the parents can see everything that takes place on the sites should be a requirement."
"I hate this happened and I feel part of me died, but I feel Chi-Chi has been given a platform to help others in his passing to realise the dangers of 'playing with fire.'"
