The Sindy doll is back – and she's had a DRAMATIC makeover

Iconic doll Sindy has had a makeover – and she’s looking very different. Instead of looking being unattainably tall and thin, she now looks like and actual, well, child.

Which is great, considering they’re the ones that will be playing with her.

The new Sindy is on sale in the UK for the first time in 10 years thanks to Tesco, who has licensed the brand from company Pedigree Toys.

This Sindy is seven inches taller than her predecessor and has a normal, healthy body shape. Also part of the ‘family’ are her three friends, Zoe, Kate and Laura.

“We've restored her beautiful and unique look,” says Tesco's head toy buyer Dawn Lavalette. We worked with our own top fashion designers to come up with a dazzling new range of clothes.

“We also think that many mums out there, who were fans of the original doll themselves, will secretly want one too.”

She comes with 11 outfits, eight pairs of shoes and a collection of accessories, so kids will still have all the benefits of the Sindy doll of old – except this time she won’t represent an impossible body shape ideal.

What do you think of the new doll? Do you prefer it to the old one? We would love to hear your thoughts on this!
