Teenager adopted as a baby meets dying grandmother for the first time

Zachary was adopted when he was 17 months old by a single mother.

His biological mother was also a single mum, but the child was unwanted. Growing up he had no contact with his birth mother or their family.

18 years later, that all changed. His biological grandmother, Sheila Gibson, had been diagnosed with terminal cancer, and was given months to live.

It was her final Christmas wish to meet the grandson she never knew for the first time.

Posting to Love What Matters, Zach's adoptive parent, who choose to remain anonymous, shared the video of Zach meeting his biological grandmother and mother for the first time in nearly two decades:

"Zach's mother, Candice, contacted me and told me that her mother’s Christmas wish was to meet Zach one time, before she passed," they wrote.

"I gave Zach the option; and without hesitation, he decided he would make her wish come true.

On December 23rd, that dream came true! The lady opening the door is Candice, his mother—it’s the first time she has been able to hold him in 18 years!"

When Sheila, his grandmother, sees him, she immediately bursts into tears, racing to hug him.

We, like the other 405,000 viewers of this emotional video, are in bits:

Someone pass the tissues!
