Specsavers Is Launching a Bluey Glasses Collection for Kids This July

If your little one needs glasses and has been less than enthusiastic about the whole idea, Specsavers may have just solved your problem. The brand is launching a brand-new Bluey eyewear collection for children, and honestly, it might be the easiest sell you’ve ever had.

The new range features four children’s frames inspired by the world of everyone’s favourite Blue Heeler, created in collaboration with BBC Studios and Ludo Studio. There are shades of pink, green and that unmistakable Bluey blue, with character artwork of Bluey herself on every pair — and some designs feature her little sister Bingo too, which means there’s every chance of a sibling squabble over who gets which pair.

Frames they’ll actually want to wear

Any parent who’s spent twenty minutes cajoling a six-year-old into keeping their glasses on will know what a game-changer character frames can be. The Bluey collection is designed to be lightweight and comfortable on little faces while still being durable enough for the daily chaos of school bags, playgrounds and whatever else small children put their belongings through.

Sarah Hodgson, Senior Frame Buyer at Specsavers, explains the thinking behind the range: “Bluey is a much-loved part of family life, and this collaboration allows us to translate that joy into eyewear children are excited to wear. By combining imaginative design with trusted eyecare, we’re helping kids feel comfortable, confident and supported in seeing the world more clearly.”

Anita Majhu, BBC Studios UK Head of Licensing, is equally enthusiastic: “We are so excited to extend the love for Bluey beyond the screen with this colourful range of prescription Bluey glasses. We hope this special collection will bring joy to lots of children as they choose their first or latest pair of glasses, with the added bonus of Bluey to brighten their day.”

There are four styles in the range, each priced at €55. Here’s what’s coming:

Where to get them

The Bluey collection will be available at Specsavers from 10th July. If you’ve got a child who already loves the show — and let’s be honest, that’s most of them — these might be the pair that finally makes getting an eye test feel like a treat rather than a chore.

At €55 a pair, they sit comfortably within the kind of range you’d expect for children’s prescription frames, and the added bonus of a character your child already adores goes a long way when you’re trying to build a positive relationship with wearing glasses from an early age.
