So far so good... The most popular baby names for 2017 will surprise you

We could look at baby names all day long: classic, modern, traditional and even a little out there – we love scrolling through lists of names (whether we're pregnant or not).

So, when we realised that the most popular baby names for the first half of this year were out we got a teeny bit over-excited. 

And the best thing? There have been a few changes! 

Normally these lists feature a few regulars – you know the ones were talking about – which can start to get a little boring, no matter how pretty the name may be. 

So we were delighted when we spotted a few new ones on Nameberry's Most Popular Baby Names of 2017. 

In fact, nearly a fifth of all boys’ names on the Top 100 are new ones compared with last year, with Kane and Magnus finally having their turn in the spotlight.

And when it comes to new names on the girls' Top 10, the aul classics are coming back with a bang: Evelyn, Ines and even Fiona.
