Scented candle becomes 'mood booster' for woman but stranger gives a bigger surprise

When Erin Bennett goes shopping, she gets the essentials.

Like most mums, it is her main priority to get everything her babies may need, secondly what she may need.

Recently, while on a trip to the store with two of her four kids, she was left deflated at the counter when she had reached her budget.

But of course, she knew what was more important, setting aside the scented candle and two make-up items she was buying for herself, and her sanity.

It was at that moment, the mum-of-four realised there is plenty of good in the world.

A stranger who was standing in line behind the mum picked up the three items, paying for them as the mum looked on with tears in her eyes.

Erin posted to her Facebook, thanking the man who showed her kindness, because at that moment, he didn't know all the things which weighed on the mum's heart.

"You didn't know that I have postpartum depression from the youngest babe and that I use scent as a way to boost my mood."

"You didn't know that this week has been full of sick kids, parent teacher conferences, emergency dental visits and I was so looking forward to lighting that candle at nap time and just taking a minute to relax."

The mum confirms that this man had no idea she had four kids, not just the two she had with her, he didn't know that she often puts back items for her, but yet he saw her.

"Even without knowing that, you saw me. You saw me as a human, not just the mum in front of you that was distracted and going way too slow."

"You heard me say that I'd like to put those items back and you said you were getting them. You didn't take no for an answer. You told me I deserved it when I started to tear up."

Erin credits her kind stranger as what is good in this world, stating: "You made my day, probably my week, and I will pay it forward."

"Thank you so much for your kind heart and words."

This is why we should always be kind to others, because we just don't know what is happening in their world – be the person that brings happiness to others.
