'R.I.P Mum Truths' are the FUNNIEST things we've seen today

Let's face it, there are something we miss about our lives BC (before critters). The ability to go to the bathroom alone, being able to sit through a movie and not having stretch marks to name but a few.

Mum-of-three, Desiree Fortin, understands just that. In her hilarious Instagram series she illustrates all the things we've had to say R.I.P to since motherhood.

Armed with only a letter board and a lot of imagination, her picture have us in tears (both kinds, to be honest).

A birth photographer by trade, Fortin regularly posts pictures on her triplets on her Instagram- so we know she's legit!

"I wanted to create something that would make people laugh and that would relatable to mums," she explains while speaking to CafeMom. "And while I would not trade my triplets for life before them, there are some things I miss, like pooping alone, a clean car, and sleep, etc."

However, Fortin is not alone in creating the pictures, her husband plays a massive role in the series- even coming up the name.

"We were talking about things we missed since becoming parents and how I wanted to create something that brought humour and honesty to motherhood," she said. "He nailed it with the name! We make a great team."

It's Fortin's aim to bring humour to everyday situations.

"I think this series is fun and brings light to our sometimes chaotic days. I hope that it will make people smile and remind them that we aren't alone on this journey!"

Nothing is off-limits in R.I.P Mum. Fortin also has a blog where she shares her fertility struggles, her anxiety, and her postpartum recovery.

"I think that talking about these things reminds other mums that they are not alone in their own struggles," she reveals. "It brings a voice to something that needs to be heard."

And while motherhood is fantastic, it's still okay to miss the pre-kiddie days- it doesn't mean that we love our kids any less.

As Fortin sums up; "I think, while we wouldn't trade mom life for anything, it is okay to miss our pre-mom life, pre-mom bodies, and everything in between."
