Paisley the service dog has just graduated from university

This adorable service dog has just received his Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Science.

Paisley has been his owner’s companion and best friend for a while now, supporting her through her college experience.

Twenty-two-year-old Casey Bruno has always battled with depression and anxiety, so when it was recommended to her to get a service dog, she thought it would be a big help.

But she did not know how much the pup would truly change her life.

Paisley, a smart Dalmatian, trails with Casey wherever she goes. She has been trained to detect when her owner is about to have an anxiety attack.

And when Casey does, she nuzzles herself into her owner's side, comforting her and showing her that she is not alone.

For the past two years, the pair have been utterly devoted to one another.

Casey said in a video: “If I didn’t have her [Paisley], I don’t know where I’d be – honestly.”

Paisley attended classes at the University of Central Florida at Casey’s side, soaking up knowledge and supporting her owner all the while.

So, when Casey was getting ready to graduate, she thought it would only be fair if Paisley graduated with her – after all the dog had worked just as hard as she did.

“Since she’s been with me through all of this, I came up with the idea for her to have her own cap.

“It represented how I was dedicated to her and her dedication to me throughout college,” the graduate explained.

Casey decorated her cap with a paw print and added a handprint on Paisley’s as well.

She’s credited her graduation to her furry friend that has impacted her life in the best way.

“You can’t be mad, sad, or frustrated when she’s right next to you because she’s such a happy dog – she’s so in touch with other people’s emotions.

“Anxiety is a big issue for a lot of people, and having a service dog has let me open up to people and realize things can get better, and that I can do anything I put my mind to.”

Congratulations to Casey and Paisley, and we hope you two continue your companionship into the future. Who knows? Maybe Paisley will be the first Dalmatian veterinarian.
