Mum shares 'devastating' picture of her kid's toy car... and you'll definitely relate to her post

As a mum, I spend a good portion of my day asking my daughter to pick up after herself.

It usually falls on deaf ears, no matter how much I may bribe and coax her, and sometimes I find myself with the sudden desire to throw everything out.

And I would, if I didn't feel so bad about it.

So when I came across Claire Treacy's (aka Mammysbrightside) Facebook page, I just couldn't resist sharing.

Involving a real car and a toy car – I am totally going to show this picture to my own daughter as an example of what happens when you don't tidy up your toys.

So what happened?

Well, here's Claire's post in full:

"I spend half my life asking them to put their things away when they're finished with them.

"They have apparently inherited their fathers extra special quality 'selective hearing'… meaning I'm completely ignored and usually end up going around the house inside and out putting things away and whisper swearing when everyone's in bed.

"Well today I dropped the bloody ball and drove straight over the toy car.

"Now I could go ranting and raving but it's child three's birthday.

"Of course it is.

"Saving face and hiding it in the ditch instead.

"RIP toy car you had a good run at it."

The picture of the sad car is devastating to say the least… but a warning to other kids who have 'selective' hearing when it comes to tidying up.

I might even print it off and stick it to our fridge door, you know, as a reminder.
