Mum loses 'battle' with toddler, coming to terms with the life of motherhood

Being a mum means you have to pick your battles; there's some you continue to fight to the death, others you stand aside.

Rachael Rochford, has found this out the hard way.

Not realising the number one rule in motherhood is NOT to try and outsmart your kid, she has lost her battle.

You see, Rachael's toddler daughter, Isla, has decided that banging doors is quite the exhilarating feeling, especially since you're not actually supposed to do it!

But when the mum-of-one bought a foam door stopper, she thought she had finally put a stop to the problem.

"I waltz up to the tills like a Cheshire cat, absolutely delighted with life that for once I get one up on my mini me…"

"It has been approximately three hours. My toddler is a real life hulk and this has passed through the powers of Isla like a marshmallow."

The two-year-old laughed her mum's idea in the face and quite literally made pieces of her 'indestructible' foam door stopper.

And according to Rachael, it looks like she'll soon be living in a barn because this is one battle she has definitely lost.

Never mums, we repeat, never, try to outsmart your toddler – it will not work.
