Mum has a different take on the movies: 'Anxiety doesn't have a look'

Mum-of-two, Laura, was chilling on her couch, when it happened.

She encountered a panic attack.

For a short while Laura considered how it didn't happen like it usually does in the movies, but it happened regardless.

"My heart was racing and beating out of my chest. I felt dizzy. But I was just sitting on the couch staring into space."

"My whole body felt heavy. I was slumped. The whole feel of it snapped me into a trance. It's like exhaustion and adrenaline. And coldness…"

"I can't explain it."

But the mum-of-two considers the fact that if anyone was in the room with her, they wouldn't have noticed anything was wrong, assuming she was just in a trance or simply bored.

"I can't tell you why I felt this way. It could be because I'm overwhelmed today. I am struggling to juggle it all."

"Struggling with motherhood and life. It's still racing. My heart," commented Laura.

Laura decided to share her post with the world, because it was during the moment her heart was racing that she realised anxiety does not have a look, wanting you to understand it too.

"People look like this everyday, some of them even smile while all of this stuff is going on inside their bodies. Their minds."

"So always be kind to others, because you never know the battles they are facing on the inside."

We've all felt like Laura at some point in our lives – but it's important we speak honestly about our feelings.
