Mum celebrates her post-baby body with all the colours of the rainbow

Women have consistently struggled with body image over the years, with many not being able to cope with the changes postpartum brings.

But your changing body is a part of life, it changes as you grow each day, and as you grow a tiny human inside you too.

It is something that us mums need to start embracing, as those stretch marks and scars are now a part of who we are.

But they're a beautiful part of us; representing an amazing journey that we soldiered on.

And Cinta Tort Cartro wants all women to understand the importance of loving their bodies, all stretched marked areas of them.

The Barcelona artist has been capturing stills of women with their stretch marks and scars on show, but she's been doing something amazing with them to convey just how beautiful the marks really are.

"A few years ago I started to work on self love and to accept and see everything in my body. To accept all this is to accept your roots, your history, everything in it and, after all, accept yourself."

"Stretch marks are part of our essence, our moments, our lives, our stories and us. They are so beautiful that I don't know how they get us to hate them."

The mum who declares that to love oneself is a revolutionary act, believes it is instilled in women from a young age to eliminate everything that isn't 'normal' from your body such as freckles, stretch marks and hairs to name a few.

"I spent years hating them and trying to find a way to eliminate them, until I realised that if I did not accept them I was not accepting myself."

As each body is different, each mark tells a different story, and that is part of the reason Cinta is changing how people perceive these marks in her latest collection of works.

Painting the colours of the rainbow onto stretch marks, the images are capturing the attention of mums all over.

"All bodies have stains, hairs, freckles, stretch marks, curves, lines, wounds, wrinkles… and all are equally valid."

"It is time for us to begin to love ours because, after all, this is our tool of communication with the world. And if we do not like the tool we use for it, we can hardly feel free," added the artist.

And once again the talented mum reinforces that to love oneself is a revolutionary act – but we're busy being in love with these beautiful ladies.

Would you like to see a movement like this near you? We're totally on board.
