Mum builds mind-blowing replica of Hogwarts from 40,000 pieces of LEGO
As self-confessed Potterheads (we’re Gryffindors obv) this mum who built a model Hogwarts out of LEGO is actually our hero, like seriously!
Amazingly talented Mum-of-two Alice Finch turned 40,000 pieces of LEGO into an architecturally-accurate and (more importantly) playable replica of the beloved School of Witchcraft and Wizardry – and we’re in awe.
And she didn’t just do the outside. Oh no, she went the whole hog(warts). Each room inside the castle is perfectly recreated, from Professor Sprout’s greenhouse to the Gryffindor Common Room to the Great Hall. Even Professor Trelawney’s Divination Tower is represented, featuring the tea scene where she began to enthusiastically predict poor Harry’s ‘terrible’ future.
The level of detail is truly mind-blowing. Harry Potter fans will immediately recognise scenes like Harry, Ron and Hermione making the Polyjuice Potion in the girls’ bathroom, and the class taking turns to fight boggarts in their Defence Against the Dark Arts class.
“I did quite a bit of research in the books and movies looking for the smallest of details, things like the old-fashioned slide projector in Lupin’s Defence Against the Dark Arts class, the location of the potions class, and the wood panelling in the charms classroom,” Alice told LEGO blog The Brother’s Brick.
Bravo Alice, we think you've just made our favourite LEGO model EVER!
