Miracle mum has baby after car accident REVERSES her menopause

Crazy as it might sound – and it does sound crazy – a mum had her menopause reversed after a horrific car accident.

Kate Mansbridge went through the menopause at the tender age of 27, and thought she would never have a baby.

“You just assume you’re going to have children and that’s how life’s going to pan out,” she said, talking to hosts Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby on breakfast show This Morning.

However, after a car hit her while she was on a cycling holiday in France, which left her in intensive care for a month with a broken pelvis, broken shoulders and legs and a broken clavicle, she began to get her period AGAIN.

“Probably a bit too grim, but I couldn’t wash myself, so I had to have people helping me wash,” she told Holly and Philip. “And the lady said ‘oh I think you’re having a period’ I said ‘No I haven’t had one of those for 10 years’.”

So HOW could such a thing happen?

“Apparently it’s to do with the adrenaline,” she explained. “You know when something happens you have a fight or flight response? Apparently it’s a massive surge of adrenaline, it does something to your brain and then it just reset it all. I just had a surge of hormones.”

And incredibly, three years after the accident Kate became pregnant, and is now mum to miracle daughter Ruby, six.

“This is just the most extraordinary story!” exclaimed Philip.

“It’s just such a miracle!” added Holly incredulously.

And we’re inclined to agree. A truly amazing story.
