'Mind blowing': Man picks up check for elderly ladies and is left dumbfounded by one of their revelations

If you believe our dearest ones can't contact us from beyond the grave, then you need to read this story.

Singer Andy Grammer was dining at a restaurant in Hampton Beach, New Hampshire recently when he noticed a nearby table of sweet elderly women enjoying their meal.

Seeing them made him miss his mum – who had passed away – so he decided to pick up their check and slip way quietly.

However, as he explained on his Instagram, he felt an urge to go over to them and say something before he left.

This is where it gets magical.

Andy wrote about what happened in a Facebook post.

He said, "I was just gonna leave but something felt like I should tell them I missed my mom, like they might like to hear that. So I walked over and said 'you are five of the sweetest ladies I've ever seen, I lost my mom awhile back and something about seeing you made me miss her this morning so I'm getting your check'."

This instinctive feeling to tell them that he missed his mother turned out to be exactly right.

On hearing what he had to say, one of the women, Mary Conat, suddenly stood up.

"The lady on the end popped up with arms wide open and said 'COME HERE, I lost my son and really needed this.' And then she gave me a mom hug I needed and I gave her a son hug she needed. We are all so connected,'' Andy said.

His emotional post has racked up a whopping 35k likes, 1.4k comments and 6.9k shares.

People were responding with their own stories about lost loved ones and one gushed, ''this is great!!! Our intuition always gives us what we need, and more so what others need as well'' and ''amazing story!!! You followed your heart and it will never be wrong. You approached them for the right reasons, not for acknowledging your good deed.''

Mary herself left a message on his post that said, ''Margaret, Betty Anne, Joan, Beth & I send our sincere appreciation to your for treating us to breakfast today at the Sea Ketch at Hampton Beach, NH Sending you lots of hugs. Your Mom sent you to us today.''

And to make this story even more moving, Andy and Mary have since met up, with Andy uploading a photo of them two of them to his Instagram.

The universe does work in mysterious ways, but it seems that Andy and Mary were always destined to find each other.
