Magical idea for tooth fairy letters your child will ADORE

My daughter lost her second tooth last night.

She had it carefully wrapped in a tiny piece of fairy material (an old ribbon) and spent hours jumping in and out of bed to check it was safe.

Luckily, the tooth fairy came and carted it safely to fairyland. Phew!

We have had a pen pal session for the last few weeks back and forwards with Rosa (our family fairy)

The interaction with a fairy is not just an exercise in imagination, it is also a way for your child to share their hopes, fears and happiness outside of his or her relationship with parents.

I noticed a little scrap of paper outside my little girl's fairy door a few weeks ago and tears came to my eyes when I saw it was a wish that her granny got better soon (she had cut her lip).

So nurturing this sweet relationship is both really important and totally adorable. The fact that this cute innocence doesn't last very long makes it all the more precious.

So here's a great way to help that fairy pen pal express herself that we came across on Pinterest:  It is also good to print it out especially if you want to disguise your writing!

There are plenty of free templates for fairy letters you can find online too like this one

Simply personalise them,  print them out and sign your fairy's name.

You can roll them up and secure with a little piece of thread. I try to sprinkle mine with fairy dust (glitter) for effect.

We also love this little one from Little Teeth on Pinterest

Then leave them at their fairy door or wherever your fairy usually corresponds to your child and wait for the yelp of delight.

Why not get some glitter or mini gold stars at your local craft shop and sprinkle them around it too.

And finally, if you are feeling super creative (and don't mind cleaning up) put down a few tiny pebbles leading up to the door, sprinkle with flour or icing sugar and then remove the little stones to reveal little footprints.

Their little faces will be a memory you will never forget.

Mums: nurturing imaginations since….forever.
