Looking for nursery inspo? Check out these stunning rooms

I am completely and utterly obsessed with DIYing stuff at the moment. I love watching people's houses transform and a dull space getting a major makeover. Instagram is the perfect medium to watch these makeovers, as in a quick and handy 30 second reel, a room goes from drab to fab.

And while the bedroom and bathroom makeovers are all jaw-dropping, it's the nurseries that really steal the show. Some of these babies' rooms are nicer than mine! Coordinated, soft, elegant and functional, these rooms will give you some serious nursery inspo.

This feminine and lush nursery is embracing the wall print detailing trend that's making a major statement. Yet, this room is not harsh on the eyes. The powerful print is played down with the soft and warm grey tones that feature throughout the room. From the panelling to the cosy armchair, these accents add a relaxing air to what could have been an overly busy room. The simple wall art, plan curtains and muted rug all allow the springy and fresh wallpaper to speak for itself, providing a comforting and individual look that we are loving.

WOW. This atmospheric and boho nursery is STUNNING! A major statement, these soft and warm colours evoke an exotic, sun-soaked location. The wall mural – which is also a major incoming trend – features a canyon, setting the tones for the muted sunny colours that glow around this little haven. The furniture is again featuring that rattan style look which adds to the laid-back feel of the room. Gorgeous accessories dotted around the place, like the hanging moon and paintings create an atmosphere of calm and earthy warmth. If you're looking for gender neutral inspo, this is it!

If you're a fan of a simpler look, this could be the one for you. This simple and elegant look is offset by a statement feature wall. What could have been busy and dizzying is instead chic and understated. The polka dot print is in a plain black and white, meaning it will fit in with most colour palettes. the pale tones throughout the rest of the room means that they can play with a pop of colour, like the stunning, rust coloured armchair that is modern and slick, drawing the eye. The texture throughout the room is well placed, with the nursery rug flowing well with the matching dark watercolours on the wall behind the crib. Elegant and effective.

I think this one is one of our faves. No fuss, no frills, just clean lines and a perfectly balanced palette. The pared back but eye-catching print in the walls echoes in the carpet, drawing the eye to both. The colours have been carefully chosen, with the tones in the rug repeating subtly around the room in the swing basket, pillows and wood of the rocking chair, a kind of rusty russet, that is earthy and warm. But the real statement piece here is the crib in the background. The warped wood poles offer a rustic, hand-made quality to the craftsmanship, that is natural and funky looking. The clean line sof the rest of crib are echoed throughout the room in the geometric print and simple rail for baby's clothing. The plant and print on the wall offer a pop amongst the neutrals and really top off the room to perfection.

If you're more of a beach babe, this relaxed feminine California style nursery could be for the one for you! Chilled and comforting, these soft tones of stone and sand are popped by sunset yellows and pinks. The seaside theme runs through the room in subtle nods to all things tropical and beachy; palm tree prints, anchors, mermaids, seashells and surfboards. The mermaid print is so adorable and the fact that all the colours work so well together without being too loud or overshadowing each other means that whoever pulled together this room is experienced. All well balanced and beautifully textured without being tacky, this room is a solid ten from us.

Not a colour person, but feel like black is too harsh for a nursery? Think again. It's all about how you use the colour. By adding accents of black around the room and plenty of texture, this nursery has managed to incorporate the colour without it becoming stark. A soft rug and tons of bright natural light balances the look, creating a peaceful vibe around the room. The print son the wall are absolutely dreamy and add a whimsical, natural air that is echoed in the natural wood and tones around the room – a real showstopper.
