Laura Whitmore’s Pregnancy Skincare Edit Is Full of Glow-Boosting Essentials
Laura Whitmore has welcomed her second baby, announcing the news on Instagram this week to the kind of warm, wholehearted response that only a good birth announcement can generate. And while the world was busy sending congratulations, something else quietly caught our attention: the pregnancy skincare edit she put together during those months of growing a human, Googling every ingredient label, and trying to keep her skin from staging a full-scale revolt.
If you’ve ever stood in the bathroom at 11pm squinting at the back of a moisturiser trying to figure out whether niacinamide is safe during pregnancy, you’ll understand exactly why this matters. The confusion around pregnancy-safe skincare is genuinely exhausting, and it sits on top of all the other exhaustion that comes with being pregnant.
“I remember standing in the bathroom Googling every ingredient, second-guessing everything I used,” Laura says. “There’s so much confusion around what’s safe, and what actually works. I really wish something like this had existed when I was pregnant the first time.”
A Routine Built Around Reassurance
The collaboration that came out of that frustration is the Laura Whitmore x SKN TO SKN Edit, which launched back in April in partnership with SKN TO SKN, an Irish-founded brand built specifically for hormonally responsive skin. It covers the full journey: pre-conception, pregnancy, breastfeeding and the postpartum period when your skin is still doing its own unpredictable thing.
The edit (€120) is a tightly curated trio of products, packaged in a leopard-print wash bag and designed to strip back the decision fatigue that comes with overhauling your routine mid-pregnancy.

The three products are:
-
SKN TO SKN Balancing Act Gel-to-Oil Cleanser — a gentle formula that dissolves the day without stripping your skin’s barrier
-
SKN TO SKN Glow & Go Daily Moisturiser SPF30 (Light Tint) — hydration, sun protection and a healthy-looking finish in one step
-
SKN TO SKN Multi-Tasking Face Serum — to support balance, calm and hydration through all the hormonal shifting
“I selected my three favourite products from the collection,” Laura explains. “It was important to me to keep things simple — products I trust, that support my skin without the need to overthink every step.”
The Science Behind It
SKN TO SKN was founded by Irish entrepreneur and mother of two Sara Stokes, and its formulations are developed alongside clinical experts including consultant dermatologist Prof Caitriona Ryan and women’s health GP Dr Raj Arora.
Prof Ryan, who is also founder of the Institute of Dermatologists in Dublin, puts it plainly: “During pregnancy, skin often becomes more reactive, so a ‘less is more’ approach is key. It’s best to avoid known irritants and ingredients such as retinoids, hydroquinone, high concentrations of salicylic acid and heavily fragranced products. Instead, opt for gentle, fragrance-free, barrier-supporting skincare — ingredients like peptides, ceramides, hyaluronic acid and niacinamide help maintain hydration without overwhelming the skin. Daily mineral sunscreen is also essential, as hormonal changes can make pigmentation, including melasma, more pronounced with sun exposure.”
Dr Raj Arora adds that having a simplified, well-curated routine “helps take the mental load away, while still supporting skin through those hormonal fluctuations.” Which, honestly, is something every pregnant woman deserves to hear.
What’s Safe, What Works — and Why It Matters
The broader point here isn’t really about any single product. It’s about the fact that pregnancy already comes loaded with enough things to worry about, and your cleanser shouldn’t be one of them. The shift towards expert-led, ingredient-transparent formulations during pregnancy is very real, and for anyone currently navigating it, having a short, trusted list is worth more than any ten-step routine.
As Laura puts it: “Pregnancy comes with enough unknowns. Your skincare shouldn’t be one of them.”
