Lapland comes to Ireland with magical winter wonderland experience
Can we go? Can we go? PLEASE can we go? Nope, that’s not the kids pulling on our sleeves and begging to be taken to Castlecomer Discovery Park’s Christmas wonderland, that’s us, the grown ups.
Set amongst 80 acres of winter woodlands in Kilkenny’s Castlecomer Discovery Park, ‘Lapland’ will come to life with cosy cabins, an elf village and of course Santa and Mrs. Clause who have taken up residence in the park’s 17th century bell-house.
Kids and adults alike will adore the fairytale yuletide experience which includes old Christmas movies, meeting Santa and receiving a present, and most exciting of all, boarding the Lapland Express for a festive train journey through the park’s wintry woodlands.
During the magical hour-long experience, the train will pass over the 17th century stone bridge, go across Lake Lapland and then around the giant Christmas tree. It will come to its final stop at Santa’s sleigh as it is loaded with gifts by a gigantic Wheel of Christmas.
Yes, there is a gigantic Wheel of Christmas. We know right?
If they’re feeling the chill after all that excitement the kids can warm themselves up with a complimentary hot chocolate and for those a bit more grown up, there’s some yummy mulled wine!
