Kids have designed the cars of the future - and you may need a new licence

Our children's imaginations know no limits, and you know what? We wouldn't have it any other way.

They can make the best stories out of the smallest scenarios and they always seem to put a smile on our faces.

So, no doubt when they were asked to draw pictures of future vehicles, they made for some pretty interesting portraits.

Primary school children were asked to dive deep into their imaginations to show us what they think they'll be driving in years to come.

Not alone did they come up with some of the coolest drives we have ever seen, but GoCompare had the drawings turned into actual illustrations!

And if the illustrations are anything to go by we'll have some very happy children, but very confused adults in a number of years.

However, our children seem to be a LOT more eco-friendly than us, making their cars run on solar power, hydroelectricity and even chocolate (although, we're not sure how long that will last).

Features also include touch screen doors, rainbow headlights, and colour changing metal and we must admit, Charlotte's rainbow convertible is one of our personal favourites – how chic.

We'll definitely need to learn how to drive again if we're to scoot around in these machines – and for some we may even need to do some extra swim lessons!
