Family Life

Kids go free this August with this amazing offer from EPIC and Jeanie Johnston

When it comes to thinking of fun days out for all the family, the summer months can be a real struggle. It can feel like an impossible task to fill up your family calendar with endless, entertaining days for your little ones.

Thankfully, this August, EPIC and Jeanie Johnston have given families a solution for one amazing (and cost-effective) day out!

For the whole of August, children aged 12 and under can enjoy free entry to both EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum and The Jeanie Johnston Famine Ship, when accompanied by a paying adult.

Whether your loved ones are interested in music and science, or sport and literature, EPIC caters to all ages. There are plenty of immersive exhibits to explore at your own pace, which will keep your little ones' brains entertained. They can dance along with top Irish performers, visit a unique library, or pick their favourite villain in an interactive game.

If you’re in need of a brief break from all of the exhibits, you can then try out the numerous eateries on offer in CHQ, which are ideal for you and your kids to grab a bite. You can also enjoy a gentle walk along the Liffey, thanks to EPIC’s convenient location by the water.

Then, just a two-minute stroll away from EPIC, you can take your little ones aboard the Jeanie Johnston Famine Ship. This incredible museum tells the story of those who escaped the Famine, and undertook a treacherous journey in the hopes of a brighter future in the United States of America.

While on the ship, your family will be able to get an insight into the harsh conditions that the passengers endured, as well as hearing some of their captivating stories. The ship is filled with rich Famine and maritime history, brought to life by its guides. Along with EPIC, the Jeanie Johnston will give you and your loved ones an educational and entertaining day out!

Kids (12 & under) can only gain free entry with a paying adult. Maximum of three free child tickets are allowed per booking. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Spaces are limited and advance online booking is essential! To find out more information and to book tickets, visit the website here.
