'I've been overwhelmed': Homeless man is flooded with hundreds of job offers after tweet goes viral

When David Casarez held a hand-written cardboard sign saying, 'Homeless. Hungry 4 success. Take a resume' by the highway, the outcome was not one he expected in a million years.

David, who sleeps on a park bench in Mountain View, California, had woken up and put on his best outfit to try and get a job.

Fate intervened when a passerby noticed him and took a photo of him.

Her name was Jasmine Scofield and not long after she posted the photo to Twitter, it went viral.

She wrote, ''today I saw this young homeless man asking for people to take a resume rather than asking for money. If anyone in the Silicon Valley could help him out, that would be amazing. Please RT so we can help David out!"

Amazingly, he has since been flooded with over 200 job offers from companies including Google, Netflix, and LinkedIn.

Jasmine updated Twitter by saying, ''I just got off the phone with David. We spoke for about an hour. He came to the Silicon Valley with a dream to be successful in tech and has a lot to offer the community. He’s sleeping in parks & still trying to get freelance work, interviews, and applications in.''

So what is David's backstory?

Well, according to The New York Post, he has a bachelors degree in management information systems from Texas A&M University, and had worked as a web developer at General Motors in Austin.

After he'd cashed out, he had came to Silicon Valley to follow his dream of his own tech startup, but he ran out of money.

"I've been overwhelmed in a very good way. Can't believe the amount of support coming my way. Didn't know it was because of Twitter until recently that I spoke to the creator of the tweet. Keeping my head up," David said  in messages put up on Twitter.

Obviously, social media went crazy for the story.

One person offered to help David and said, ''we’ll take care of him if no one else has stepped in yet. Have a nonprofit fund for this kind of thing, or housing, or industry connections, whatever he prefers'.'

Others wrote, ''you two are some awesome humans. One for tweeting this information out, and the other for reaching out to make sure he’s receiving the help. The world still has quality people'' and ''great attitude. He will surely succeed.''

Wising you all the best for the future, David!
