IKEA Ireland is dropping prices on hundreds of iconic products today
If you’ve been quietly adding things to your IKEA wishlist while telling yourself you’ll wait for a good deal, tomorrow is your day. From today (Thursday, 27th August), IKEA Ireland is introducing what it’s calling New Lower Prices across hundreds of its most iconic products — and unlike a flash sale that vanishes by the weekend, the brand is making very clear that this is a permanent change. As they put it themselves: this isn’t a sale. It’s the new normal.
For anyone who has ever stood in the Ballymun car park mentally calculating whether the trolley justifies the trip, this is genuinely good news. The price reductions land both online and in-store, spanning some of the most-loved pieces in the IKEA range — storage staples, bedroom furniture, everyday essentials and the kind of things that end up in every Irish home eventually.
The price drops worth knowing about
The KALLAX shelving unit — the one that has seen the inside of more Irish living rooms, playrooms and hallways than possibly any other flat-pack invention — will drop to €59 in white stained oak effect, down from €70. That’s a 16% reduction on something that genuinely earns its keep, especially once you stuff it with those fabric storage boxes and pretend the chaos inside doesn’t exist.

The HEMNES daybed is also getting a significant cut, dropping 13% from €379 to €329. If you’ve ever tried to explain to a non-parent why you need a piece of furniture that functions simultaneously as a sofa, a single bed, a double bed and a storage unit, the HEMNES is basically the answer to that entire conversation. The ALEX drawer unit drops from €50 to €40, while the VALEVÅG mattress comes down a full 23%, from €299 to €229. The GULLABERG chest of drawers moves from €199 to €179.
These aren’t dramatic headline-grabbing numbers individually, but if you’re fitting out a room, a nursery or finally tackling that spare bedroom you’ve been ignoring since 2023, the savings do add up quickly.
In-store at Ballymun: even more to discover
Shoppers heading to IKEA Ballymun will find over 1,000 exclusive in-store-only deals running across the rest of the year, with discounts of up to 25%. Some of the highlights include:
-
BILLY bookcase — reduced from €40 to €29 in classic white (28% off). An absolute icon and, frankly, a bargain at that price.
-
TROFAST storage frame — down from €31 to €19 (39% off). If you have small children and you don’t already own one of these, this is the nudge you needed.
-
DYVLINGE swivel chair — reduced from €229 to €149 in all colours (35% off). A genuinely lovely statement piece for a sitting room corner.
-
MICKE desk — from €55 down to €45 in white (18% off). Perfect if the kids have claimed the kitchen table as their homework station again.
-
DRÖNA fabric storage box — reduced from €4 to €3 (25% off). Stock up. You’ll always need more of these.
-
LACK side table — from €12 to €10 in white (17% off).
-
ANNONS 3-piece cookware set — from €15 to €12 (20% off).

Cosy season savings are coming too
If you can hold out a little longer, IKEA is also planning a dedicated cosy season event in-store, running from 7th September to 1st November. That means 20% off throws, bedspreads, candles, floor lamps, table lamps, selected rugs, thermal curtains, seasonal duvets and cookware. Basically everything you’ll want once the evenings start drawing in and you decide the house needs a full autumn refresh.
The full range of New Lower Price products will be available from 27th August, both online at IKEA.com/ie and in-store at Ballymun. Worth bookmarking if you’ve got a list.
