FREE ‘bump banter’ zoom event for expectant parents

Kaliedy, the new Irish online store specialising in baby essentials, nursery items and toys, which launched late last year, will be hosting a free event for expectant parents on Saturday, 13th February at 2pm. This will be the first in a series of parenting support events which will take place over the course of the year.

Aimed at expectant mothers, fathers, partners, guardians and grandparents (kids are welcome too, of course!), the ‘Bump Banter’ event will feature a host of pregnancy care advocates, all experts in their own fields as they share their top tips on self-care and preparing your body for birth, as well as offering invaluable advice, support and encouragement on what to expect as the nation adjusts to this new normal’.

Hosted by stylist and influencer Justine King, who is due her first baby this year, the event will feature invaluable tips and advice on what to expect when giving birth during a pandemic, tips on how to strengthen your body for birth and in the days and weeks following baby’s arrival, as well as comfort measures to practice if labouring alone. Mumtobe Justine will also be sharing her top tips on packing her ultimate hospital bag essentials.

The Panelists:

Panelist Avril Flynn is a Midwife, Childbirth Educator, Hypnobirth & Mindfulness Teacher as well as a mum to Felix. When she isn’t busy being the co-presenter of the Stripped Bare podcast, her focus in offering holistic care to parents and parents to be, taking away the stress and fear around pregnancy and birth.

Pregnancy and Postnatal Yoga Expert Kathy Milliken (Bump, Baby and Me), is also an Infant Massage Instructor, Birth & Postnatal Doula and volunteer Breastfeeding Counsellor, who has worked with parents and their babies since 2012 and is a busy mum to two little girls.

While Kitty Hacken of Birth, Baby and Beyond, is another multitasking mum of one. Not only is she a registered Nurse, Hypnobirthing instructor, Antenatal educator, lactation consultant and Doula, Kitty is herself expecting baby number two and teaches all of her classes virtually at the moment, as well as offering in person birth support at this time.

Pregnancy is such a joyous journey, but with big changes on the horizon, it can be a daunting time too. Particularly going on this journey in the midst of a pandemic, when parents can’t rely on the physical support network they would normally be able to.

While Kaliedy’s online offering meets all the wants and needs of the modern Irish family, the online store also aims to offer advice and support when their customers need it most.
