Dad's explanation for buying his ex-wife a birthday gift is all kinds of perfection

Billy Flynn is a dad-of-two, who has had to come to terms with co-parenting following his marital break-up.

Divorce is never easy, especially with children involved, you want to make things as amicable as possible.

So when this dad began receiving mixed messages about his choice to buy his ex-wife a birthday gift we were quite surprised.

Billy revealed people were perplexed as to why he still done nice things for his ex-wife like buying her flowers, a gift and a card for her birthday.

But the dad-of-two doesn't look at the situation with bitterness – firmly believing that giving the presents to his boys to gift their mama was the right thing to do.

Speaking to Love What Matters, Billy makes his intentions clear: "I'm raising two little men. The example I set for how I treat their mum is going to significantly shape how they see and treat women and affect their perception of relationships."

"I think even more so in my case because we are divorced. So if you aren't modelling good relationship behaviour for your kids, get your shit together. Rise above it and be an example. This is bigger than you."

His advice to other mums and dads who are co-parenting just shows how important it is to always set a good example for your children, no matter how you may feel, because it isn't just about you anymore.

Billy added: "Raise good men. Raise strong women. Please. The world needs them, now more than ever."
