Dad's cake to celebrate breastfeeding will make you LOL

When breastfeeding, mums need all the support they can get. Between the late nights, the leaking and the chafing, breastfeeding can be an emotional roller-coaster.

So one dad, Ross Hunt, decided to celebrate his wife breastfeeding for their daughter's first year, by making a cake.

Pretty sweet, right? Well wait until you see the cake….

Yep, that's correct, it is a boob cake.

It get's better, it also leaks 'milk', actually and icing sugar and water mix.

"Since Rachel's been breastfeeding Isabelle [their daughter] now for a year … I thought I'd do a little bit of a themed cake for Rachel," the dad-of-one explained in a YouTube video. "So I kind of thought, what can I do for a themed cake … Um, boobs, obviously. Can't do a lot else."

He continues to say that he did a lot of "research":

"I spent hours and hours online trying to find the right sort of design, the right shape, what sort of look I was gonna go for, for the boobs. I put a lot of effort into that," he explained.

Despite the commitment to the boob shape (which we have to admit is pretty accurate), Ross says he couldn't get the fondant to look skin coloured.

Wife Rachel, was sceptical about the boob cake "It's a bit weird isn't it?" she says in the video.

However the cake did have one massive fan…

Writing on his blog, Ross explained that as a dad, he wanted to do everything possible to support Rachel's breastfeeding journey.

"As the dad in a breastfeeding journey, it’s very easy to feel useless, helpless and just a little bit obsolete. Mainly because most of the time you actually are.

"I guess that’s part of the reason why I wanted to make this cake. It’s a symbol that says 'Whilst I might not be able to help you out physically. I can support you in other ways.'"

On the eve of their daughter turning one, he also wanted to celebrate the ups nad downs of their first year as parents. Too cute.

"This cake was just a reminder that we got through the hard times. But most importantly we got through them together."

Also because he "thought it would be fun. And to be fair, it absolutely was."
