Dad asks why son keeps hiding the remote with hilarious results

There’s a sort of unwritten agreement that when you have kids, things are going to go missing. Some people call it a black hole, others call it Narnia. Whatever it’s called it exists, we’re sure of it.

It might be a game, it might be exploration or it might just simply be that your child has a thing about taking things and hiding them!

“Where the hell are all my goddamn remotes,” asked user mikew on his Reddit page. “My four year old swears it wasn't him but I often find them in his playroom, this time I think he found a portal to Narnia and stashed them there. Nothing more to really say, I just needed to rant…”

His post struck a chord with other parents who could relate, with hilarious results…

“Fun fact: babies and small children can open portals to another dimension, but only when not observed.”

“Toddler calls gleefully from another room: "Stash!!!" followed by running footsteps so the general location can't be identified. Oh shit… No!!!!!! What was it?! Where is it?! Did he have food? Does anyone remember whether he finished the chicken?”

“I used to collect all the old remotes for the kids to play with, but they have an uncanny ability to tell a "real" remote from a decoy.”

“THANK YOU, that thing is the bane of my tv-watching existence. My daughter knows too – she'll snatch it and run away, cackling gleefully, at any opportunity.”

“My 3 yr old loves to raid my desk. My phone, my radio (Amateur/Ham) mic, random tools or bits I leave there. Some days I'll just ask her "Where's Daddy's stuff from his desk?" to see what she brings me. I've almost learned not to leave my wallet.”

“After a couple months of losing everything I tossed a pad lock on my side drawer by the bed. Anything I care about is in that drawer. Everything outside is fair game.”

“Lost the tiny remote for my wdtv media player for ages. Until the weather changed and I found it deep in one of my boots. Kids are awesome.”

“My toddler ran off with an Ipod touch and that thing was never seen again. I f&%*?>g swear I have no idea what happened to it. It's been gone for months.”

“In the fridge. That's basically the Lost And Found of my home, at least.”

“Any toys with openings. Play fridge, stove- any ride-on toy with a seat the opens up, and in the trash cans. That's where all the things I own are right now.”

“Once I couldn't find the remote with my two year-old daughter in the house. I was looking all over, and then I noticed that there were plastic containers on the couch. I went to the kitchen, open the cabinet where we kept the plastic, and there was my remote.”

We had to laugh. If anyone ever finds the mysterious location of sock / bottle / remote control Narnia PLEASE let us know!
