Brothers are delighted when Mum brings their sibling home, after being separated for 198 days

After being separated from their brother Arlo for 198 days, these two young boys couldn't contain their excitement when they walked into their living room and saw the youngster on the floor with Mum.

Arlo was born at 25 weeks + 1 day, weighing just 755g, and spent time in the Neo Intensive Care Unit until he was big and strong enough to go home.

Throughout his time in the hospital, Arlo was treated for a heart murmur, heart failure, pulmonary haemorrhage, collapsed lungs, bleeding on his brain, acute renal failure and sepsis, among other things.

On Day 46, the little boy was transferred to his local hospital, where less than a week later he was diagnosed with Necrotising Enterocolitis (NEC), septic shock, a perforated bowel and was swollen and yellow.

His parents Laura and Sammy were told to prepare for the worst.

However, an operation to remove the dead parts of the bowel and the creation of a stoma saved his life. He weighed just 2lbs when he had surgery.

Arlo opened his eyes at around Day 50, but was still critically ill. Thankfully, one month after developing NEC he came off the ventilator.

And nearly two months after he was born, Arlo's mum and dad were able to cuddle him for the third time.

He took his first feed on Day 100.

Arlo continued to get better and his family visited him in hospital.

On day 208, Arlo was finally discharged from hospital, and his brothers were clearly delighted to have him home.

Sharing the moment on Facebook, Laura wrote: "After 198 nights of being separated from their baby brother while he was in hospital, I think they were pleased to find out 'Larlo' (& Mommy) are finally home."

Such an incredible family, and an incredibly special little boy.
