Fancy getting your hands a bit dirty? Well come and learn all about how to make an ancient clay pot, decorate it with history-inspired designs and find out what they were used for!

Myths, Folklore and Legends Storytelling Sessions

It’s Seachtain na Gaeilge this week and Dublinia has some dramatic storytelling sessions about myths, legends and folklore, with some Irish words thrown in for the week that’s in it!

Artefact Handling 

Kids can join archaeologists and museum professional Donna Gillian and take part in handling real artefacts and hearing the stories behind them.

Make a Thor's Hammer necklace

Have kids that would be interested in making some Viking jewellery? Well come along to this special workshop and they can make their very own necklace or pendant shaped like Thor’s hammer! 

Sunday April 24th

Viking Craft Tablet weaving/ Spinning 

Come and see how Medieval spinning and Viking tablet weaving are done. See a Medieval Spinster at work using a drop spindle to turn fleece into yarn, one of the most basic skills necessary for traditional fabric making. With tablet weaving, complicated braid making is explained and demonstrated with displays of intricate designs upon the loom and tablets.
