Book review: Love Will Never Die, supporting kids through grief

Mum of two, Clare Shaw, is a writer of therapeutic stories for children, but what makes her writing unique, is how she speaks directly from the heart.

Following her husband's deployment overseas in August 2016, the mum finally put her book Sometimes together; the book was originally a personal exercise to help her children cope with their dad being away from home, but sharing with others gave Clare the confidence to publish her work.

Sometimes, an interactive children's book, reassures kids that the feelings they have are OK, and that there is nothing wrong with missing their mum or dad.

Creating calendars, and pinpointing locations on the map are just some of the fun aspects the kids can enjoy while taking on board the feeling of empathy shown within the pages.

But following the release of Sometimes, Clare began writing notes around bereavement and how children cope with their feelings.

With that, Love Will Never Die, has come to our attention and we love the beautifully articulated book.

Clare directly addresses the loss of a loved one, but in such a way that a child can openly relate to much of the content within.

The book itself removes doubts and fears that children may have around loss, also providing tips on how they can deal with their grief and aids them in understanding what is happening around them.

With blank pages included for notes, space to write how you might be feeling and even a tissue included, parents will be able to explain the realities of coping with grief to their little ones.

The books are a wonderful educational tool for our children, while giving a deep and meaningful insight into the different ways in which we can manage our emotions.

The book is available online now at Clare Shaw Children's Books
