Author and singer expecting their first child

It has been a wonderful week for baby news, with Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley and US actor Kevin James both welcoming children.

Now, we have even more wonderful baby news to share, as it has been revealed that award-winning and much-loved author Neil Gaiman is going to be a dad again.

The Coraline author announced the news on his social media channels, sharing a photo of his wife, singer Amanda Palmer, cradling her baby bump.

The 54-year-old writer tweeted: “I just took a photograph of beautiful, three months pregnant @amandapalmer.”

The photo, posted originally by singer Palmer, carried the caption: “Guess what? I’m pregnant. Due September. Super special thanks to Neil himself.”

A delighted Neil went on to describe himself as “the happiest and luckiest man in the world”.

This will be the first child for Neil and Amanda, who have been married since 2011. Gaiman is already a father to his three children from his previous marriage to Mary McGrath: Michael, Holly and Madeleine.
