Most expectant parents go through their fair share of baby name lists, looking for ideas and inspiration. And let’s be honest, we’ve come across quite a few less desirable names over the years.

However, to see them all in one place — well, that is a sight!

Popular UK parenting website, Emma’s Diary has savagely listed what they deem to be the top 100 worst baby names, in a fun, tongue and cheek article.

Some of the surprising monikers listed include Alice, Deirdre, Arlo, George, Kevin and Simon. Other more unusual names to make the list include Sonny, Bear, Delilah and Arabella.

What is it about all of these names that make them so bad though? Well the article explains that some names have become so popular and overused in recent years, that to many they now sound boring and plain.

Other names have unflattering meanings or translations, such as Fanny, Karen or Adolf. However, the website also noted that the most important thing for mums and dads-to-be to remember, is that if you love a name, then it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks.

“This list is meant to be a bit of light-hearted fun and no offence is intended. If you love a certain name, then you should use it and forget about what anyone else may think,” they’ve said.
