Aldi's Christmas pet range is here to spoil your furry friends
Look, I know we're all drowning in wrapping paper and attempting to remember which cousin gets what this year. But let's be honest: the one family member who'll never judge your present choices is currently wagging their tail in the sitting room or purring on top of the clean laundry you just folded.
The good news? Aldi's got your back when it comes to spoiling your four-legged friends this Christmas without requiring a second mortgage. From December 11th, their pet range lands in stores nationwide and it's absolutely stuffed with adorable bits that'll make your pet's Christmas morning almost as chaotic as the kids'.
Christmas stockings and boxes for the furry ones
If your dog or cat has been side-eyeing the stockings hung up for everyone else, now's their moment. Aldi's doing a Cat Christmas Stocking for €4.99 with eight cat toys inside. That's eight whole toys. Your cat will ignore them all in favour of the box they came in but at least you tried.
For the dogs there's a Dog Christmas Stocking at €5.99 that comes with six toys including rope, balls, rubber and plush options. The stocking itself is reusable too so you can store all those toys they'll scatter across the floor for the next three months.
There's also a Pet Christmas Box for €3.99 which comes in two themes. The Moose one has antlers, a moose squeaky toy, wooden hang tag, bandana and a letter to Santa with envelope. The Santa version has a Santa hat, Santa squeaky toy, wooden hang tag, bandana and also a letter to Santa. Yes, your dog can write to Santa. No, you won't have to forge their handwriting.
Festive outfits because why should kids have all the fun?
If you've ever wanted to dress your dog as a gingerbread man (and honestly who hasn't?) this is your moment. The Festive Pet Coat is €5.99 and comes in reversible designs so you get two looks for the price of one. Choose from Pudding/Elf, Santa/Gingerbread or Snowman/Tree patterns. Sizes go from XS to L so whether you've got a tiny terrier or a larger lad, you're sorted.
Get your furry friend into the festive spirit with this adorable gingerbread man costume for dogs.
For those winter walks when it's absolutely lashing and you're questioning all your life choices, there's also a Quilted Dog Coat for €6.99 with cosy lining. It comes in blue, green or beige and again runs from XS to L. Perfect for keeping them warm on Christmas morning strolls when you're trying to walk off the third helping of trifle.
Beds and blankets for all the snoozing
Between the school runs, the present wrapping and pretending you know what's happening in the kids' Nativity play, everyone needs a good nap. Your pet's no different.
The Plush Pet Bed ranges from €14.99 for small up to €19.99 for large and comes with a removable plush cushion. You can choose from Boucle, Faux Suede, Cord or 2-Tone Plush designs. Basically it'll look nicer than half the furniture in your sitting room.

Make your furry friend's Christmas extra special with a cosy dog bed and festive toys they'll love.
If you've got an XL pup there's an XL Plush Pet Bed for €24.99 in the same design options. And for crates there's an XL Crate Mat at €14.99 in supersoft fleece material. It comes in beige, green or grey and measures about 107 x 72cm.

Make sure your furry friend has a cosy spot to relax this Christmas with a soft pet mat perfect for festive naps.
There's also a Faux Fur Pet Blanket for €12.99 that's machine washable (thank goodness) and measures roughly 100 x 65cm. Choose from green, 2-tone grey, blue or beige. Drape it over their bed or the couch they're not supposed to be on but definitely are.
Toys, treats and bits to keep them busy
Christmas Day is long. Really long when you've small children hopped up on sugar and a dog who wants to be involved in absolutely everything. Keep them entertained with Aldi's toy range.
The Comfort Rope Dog Toy is €3.99 and features plush material with a rope core and squeaker. Pick from Bear, Fox or Monkey designs. There's also a Crinkle Food Toy for €3.99 with squeaker and crinkle sounds in Hot Chocolate, Pie, Sprout or Croissant styles. Your dog won't care which one, they'll destroy them all equally.
If your pet's a Grinch fan (or you are and want to project) there's The Grinch Pet Toy for €4.99. Choose from Plush with Rope Neck, Plush with Ring Rope or Plush with Rope Hands. Movie-inspired mischief for their toy basket.
For cats there's a Catnip Toy at €3.49 with catnip and crinkle sound. Designs include Cinnamon Buns, Donuts or Pudding & Star. Your cat will go absolutely mental for approximately four minutes then ignore it forever.
And if you really want to spoil them there's Earl's/Bella's Treats Selection Box for €3.49, plus Lick Mat & Paste sets at €4.99. The lick mats are dishwasher safe and come in tree, paws or bones shapes with various paste flavours. They're meant to keep dogs occupied. Results may vary depending on how food-motivated your pup is.
The practical bits
Beyond the cute stuff there's actually some genuinely useful things in the range. The Treat Puzzle Toy is €9.99 and has three puzzle levels to help occupy your dog. Great for when you need ten minutes of peace to drink a cup of tea while it's still hot.
There's also a Tennis Ball Gift Set for €5.99 presented in a festive gift box with 2 rope balls, 2 festive tennis balls, 1 rubber ball and 2 spiky balls. That's a lot of balls. You'll be finding them under the couch until Easter.
The Pet Mattress is the priciest item at €29.99 but it's generously filled with springy hollow fibres, has a microfleece cover, anti-slip base and a zip-off cover for easy cleaning. It measures about 93 x 78cm and comes in olive green, navy or grey. Honestly it sounds more comfortable than your own mattress.
The full pet range hits Aldi stores from December 11th so you've got plenty of time to grab bits before the big day. And let's be real, after the year we've all had, if dressing your dog as an elf brings you joy then that's absolutely valid.
Your pet might not understand Christmas but they'll definitely understand that something exciting is happening and there are treats involved. And isn't that the spirit of the season anyway?
