10-year-old Irish child model left with severe facial injuries after dog attack

cameron lynch10-year-old child model, Cameron Lynch was attacked by a dog leaving him with severe facial injuries yesterday.

The boy was due to appear on TV3’s Ireland AM yesterday but was instead in hospital.

Cameron was playing with friends near his grandmother’s house in Drumalee, Dublin when a dog, believed to be a husky viciously turned on the boy, causing severe injuries to his face.

He was rushed to Temple Street Children’s Hospital for emergency surgery following the attack.

His mother, Jacqueline said that her son was lucky he didn’t lose his eye: “The doctors said that if one of the cuts was half a centimetre higher, his eye would be gone.”

Jacqueline told reporters that Cameron is recovering at home, after receiving 50 stitches in his face, and will be returning to the hospital on Monday to have them removed.

His mum has warned parents to be careful about allowing dogs and other pets around their children, particularly as the husky that attacked her son had no history of aggression: “They are animals at the end of the day and we don’t know what they are thinking, that dog had never done anything like that before,” the shaken mum said.

The dog was later put down following the attack on Cameron.
