Basic omelette
- 4 eggs
- 2 tbsp cold water
- 20g butter, to fry
- 2 tomatoes, washed and chopped
- Salt and pepper
Method:
- Beat the eggs and water in a bowl until combined.
- Add the seasoning and then preheat grill on high.
- Heat a medium frying pan over medium-high heat until just warm.
- Add butter and tilt pan back and forth until butter sizzles.
- Beat eggs once more and then pour into pan.
- Tilt pan so eggs cover base.
- After a few minutes, use a wooden spoon to drag the cooked egg from outer edge into centre.
- Tilt pan so that the uncooked egg comes into contact with base.
- Place pan under grill until lightly browned.
- Serve with chopped tomatoes.
