'55 short days is all it took' - Mum finds her tribe remembering day she discovered her pregnancy

Life doesn't always go according to plan.

Situations change, and sometimes it can throw a curveball in your direction.

Nevertheless, the most challenging of circumstances can become the best of your life – after all, it is a rainbow that adorns our skies following the rain.

Emma Lou Harris took to her blog this week to remember the day she found out she was expecting her first child, and how awesome life's challenging curveballs can be.

"55 days. 55 short days is all it took between our official first date and the night I found out I was pregnant. We were practically strangers. We still knew very little about ourselves let alone each other."

"One minute we were on our first date, and the next, we stood in a tiny bathroom, […] holding a stick with two blue lines that would change our lives forever."

However, fast forward five years, Emma and her partner are still happily together and parents to two wonderful children.

Mum confided in her followers that sometimes things can just happen, 'nothing is for certain, nothing is foreseeable, and nothing is for keeps', but she firmly believes when something is meant to be, it will be.

"Opportunities will arise and sink again without giving you the sufficient time to snatch them but that's because it just isn't your time. Or it is exactly your time, for something else."

The beautiful post has garnered much attention, and we feel this mama has found her mum tribe.

Fellow mums have come together to relay their beautiful stories on the post, of how things may not have gone to plan but how they wouldn't change a thing.

One user revealed: "We were six months together when we realised I had a bun in the oven. I felt so many emotions, fear being a recurring one for a long time… here we are 13 years later besotted with each other, three beautiful children together, so many ups and downs, some I'd care to forget but would go through every one again in a heartbeat."

Gemma shared: "Me and my husband were together just under three months when I found out I was pregnant, we now have four children, have been married for seven years and been together for 15. We were definitely meant to be."

"I was three months with my husband when I fell pregnant! Four kids later, married 10 years next week, together 14 years! Some things are just meant to be! chimed another."

What a gang – fair play to these mums for sharing their stories.
