50 volunteers sign up to help father whose wife died shortly after giving birth

Mum-of-four Chervonne Magaoa sadly died soon after giving birth to her triplets. Chervonne, who is from New Zealand but was living in Hawaii at the time, suffered an amniotic fluid embolism.

A rare pregnancy complications, it occurs when amniotic fluid enters a mum's bloodstream.

Her husband Martin is now raising the couple's four children – six-year-old Tanner and newborns Aayden, Blaise and Carson – alone.

Following Chervonne's tragic and sudden death, the community where Martin lives rallied together to help the dad care for his four children.

In fact, according to the MailOnline, 50 volunteers, consisting of members of the local church, family, friends and the Maori community have signed up to help with feeding, changing nappies and bedtime.

And friends Jan Lesuma and Billy Racule set up a GoFundMe page to raise money for the father; in the space of four months, an incredible $73,627 has been raised.

"Funds will be used to cover these unexpected funeral expenses," they explained on the page.

"Excess funds will be used to help Martin and their four young sons as they, and the rest of Chervonne’s family and friends, adjust to life without dear Chervonne."

34-year-old Martin shares updates on the children, and despite the heartbreaking situation that the family finds themselves in, Martin is happy because the babies are happy.

"The babies are healthy and they're growing. They're happy, so we're happy. We can't complain."
